The internet is awash with promises of instant riches and ‘get rich quick schemes’. Unfortunately many people are sucked in by the notion that making thousands of pounds, in a matter of days, for very little effort is possible. If this was the case I’d be writing this on a beach in the Bahamas and you’d probably be reading it somewhere similar.
There are however, opportunities to make a bit of extra money from the internet, at home. These aren’t going to make you rich over night but can provide you with a bit extra cash, and many are very flexible.
If you have even a small ability to write a piece on a given subject then you could put your spare time and laptop to good use. Here is a little explanation
Every day people are setting up new websites and blogs all of which need content. For internet start ups, getting cheap, high quality content can be important and site owners will pay people to write for them. This can range from a single article for a few pounds to a six month (or longer) contract writing many articles for hundreds of pounds. You can tender for as many ‘jobs’ as you want depending on the time you can commit.
Another way is by writing articles for ‘how to’ type sites and submitting them directly. This one works by paying you an amount per number of views your article gets. The good thing about this is that you don’t have to tender for work. You just write about something you know and post it on the site. Another benefit is that there is no limit to the number of articles you write and they don’t expire. So you could write 20 articles over a few months and they all add up towards your total number of page views.
There are a good number of sites that offer one or the other of these options. Here are 2 of our favourites
